Security in design
Designers are normally looking to the cutting edge to surprise and thrill us with their ideas, but there is now a growing trend for designers to be looking at design and security. These designs are being implemented in order to prevent theft.
This is being hailed as the new weapons against the criminals, these crime designers are purposely building products that are theft proof or that will help in the prevention of crime.
Like the chair where the shoulder strap of a hand bag can be placed into slots in the seat making it more or less impossible to steal. Or the self locking bicycle that if the lock is broken it renders the bicycle itself useless and therefore a waste of time in stealing.
This new concept is just that a concept, but never the less it is a great idea, preventing crime through design.
