Where to get free music

There was a time when the internet was free and easy, but times have changed which has meant that the whole theory of the free and unrestricted access of the net has disappeared and in its place has formed an internet police who track down anyone who file shares etc.

But there are still places where music is free, and despite the current feelings towards free music and downloads, and so where are these places?
