It pays to be a pirate
A film about file sharing “Steal this Film 2” which is about the history of file sharing past, present and future, is produced by the League of Noble Peers and is totally free to download. But should the viewers feel inclined to do so, they can make a donation.
In the first four days over 150,000 downloads were taking place and donations were over $5,000, this may not seem much when compared to the major the film industry, but this is small time film making and $5,000 is good.
When the first film came out they asked for a minimum donation of $1, which was exactly what they got, but this latest venture means that the average downloader has paid around $15, not a bad increase, although a dollar multiplied by 150,000 would have been pretty good.
