Online shopping set to keep growing

Within Europe the trend for people to shop online keeps growing and it is not expected to slow down for some time yet.

Being able to shop without the hassle of leaving home and getting caught up in crowds etc will help the figures grow to an astonishing £200 million by 2011, which works out at about 25 per cent increase each year from 2007 to 2011.

The UK leads the way with around 72 per cent of all online sales for Europe. It is estimated that in 2007 the total amount spent by shoppers in the UK will be around £42 billion, which is the highest in Europe, while in Germany there are more online shoppers but they spend less than the UK.

The whole online shopping market is set to grow further when the experience hits places like Czech Republic, Poland and Russia, they have been slow to take up on line shopping, but it is estimated that by 2010 this would have changed.
