Linux v Windows security

Microsoft believe that their software is comparable with that of Linux, and yet the whole aspect of security should not be comparable they should be out to be better than the rest. The trouble is that is makes no difference if Linux is better than Microsoft or visa versa, they should be comparing themselves against each other; the job is to make computing a safe and enjoyable experience.

I think that the difference between a product like that from Microsoft and the same from Linux is that we trust Microsoft to have done everything for us because we are paying for it, and the with Linux, because this is open source, we somehow expect there to be some things wrong with it.

So in reality the two are not totally comparable because the consumers are different and indeed expect different things.
