Taxman loses personal details

Well in another government blunder we see that virtually everyone in country who has kids could be at risk of ID theft, and this is the government who wants to hold even more data on everyone! So what do they do with it? Stick in an envelope and send it through the post (Another great UK institution!).

Around 25 million people are affected by this mistake, in which a government official downloaded and copied the complete database of people who claim Child Benefit. The details include names, addresses, dates of birth, national insurance numbers and even banking details, its like handing over to all of the bad people in the world 25 million passports, mortgages and anything else they would care to do.

What does the Minister in charge say? “He is sorry!” Well he should be!
