Biggest threat to computer security
The security of US technology is under threat, in fact any country that is reliant on computers for the processing of data and the running of government departments are at risk of being hacked. But to the Americans the single most serious risk around at the moment is not from terrorists but from the Chinese.
A panel have told Congress that it is China who are seeking new technology and in an aggressive move by Chinese industry they are pouring in money into research and partnerships, but this is not enough, espionage is also an option for the Chinese as this would enable them to access data and equipment without the need to go into partnership or even purchase it.
The problem that the US has is that China has already been pressing the boundaries of technology by carry out their cyber attacks on the US and other countries. This is believed to be their first line of attack in an aggressive war. It is the cyber war that concerns many people, attacking computer systems by remote as this could cause chaos throughout the country.
