Big Fine For Illegal Software

A UK company that has remained anonymous has found out exactly how it costs when you fail to buy licences for the software running on their business computers. The company which is involved in the infrastructure and public services sector was running Adobe, Autodesk, and Microsoft software on hundreds of machines in various locations around the UK.

It was the Business Software Alliance (BSA) who caught the company out, and in an out of court settlement the company decided that £250,000 was well worth the money, especially when set against the adverse publicity that would have resulted should this matter have been heard in open court.
