VoIP may be vulnerable

It would appear that VoIP might not be as safe and secure as we all think, and considering the rise in users this could be a serious problem for the many users and providers too.

Testers from VoIP security consultants have been finding ways of compromising computers via VoIP software clients.

This has been demonstrated at a conference, where a laptop that had McAfee running, but still a hacker was able to create a buffer overflow, where a script can be added straight onto the laptop. This computer is now compromised and the hacker can look around, take files and other information.

If this can be done with a computer running anti virus software, then it proves that the danger is very real indeed.
