Password Problems for UK Users

In a study conducted by net security experts McAfee, 3,500 computer users across Europe were asked questions regarding the use of passwords. It was found that UK computer users could run the risk of being caught out by online fraud simply because they fail to use more secure passwords.

Almost half of those surveyed never changed their passwords, and only 16% changed their passwords on an annual basis. The recommended amount of password changes is at least three times a year. It was also found that password length was a problem, 20% only use six characters and 18% use letters only in their passwords. Finally a massive 84% use the same password for more than one account.
