UK leads £13 million project

The project is to test out the possibilities of EU wide access for businesses and citizens to access all e government services across the EU. There are thirteen countries in Europe at the moment and the estimated cost is going to be £13 million.

The purpose behind this project which has been named Project Stork, is to ensure that the introduction of electronic ID’s runs smooth. However this project will initially be run for three years, so that is the sort of time scale that they are looking at.

One thing is for sure, ID is going to be networked throughout Europe and clearly this will mean the introduction of ID cards etc, no matter what anyone says.
