ISP’s responsible for security

It is the ISP’s who should be taking responsibility for the issues of security and not the customers. That is according to Kimmo Alkio, President of F Secure.

He argues that it is the ISP’s who have the technical know how and the ability to prevent many of the security issues that have been plaguing some customers. This is also a missed opportunity for ISP’s who could be missing out on a very valuable income stream.

ISP’s can charge for these security measures either separately or by including it in the prices that they are charging. Not only is this a potential income stream, but it is also a great selling point for them to increase their market share, because customers will appreciate their efforts.
