Skype worm expands with a click

Online security teams are working to get malicious websites closed down by targeting the domain registries to find out who the domain owners are. This is a marked attempt to get rid of the threat that has been plaguing the VIOP system including Skype windows users.

The virus is spread by specially devised instant messages that get sent on by another Skype user and so on. The virus has three names, w32/Ramex.A, W32/Slipi.A and W32.Pykspa.D but whatever it is called, it is a nuisance and finds its way into the message inbox and if the user clicks on the link, the whole thing starts off again.

User will know if their machine is infected when the soap bubble image appears after clicking on a link that has appeared in the Skype message inbox.
