UK Business worried about Wi Fi security

Astonishingly there are four out of ten businesses in the UK who have not installed a company wide Wi Fi system and the main reasons are security and speed.

It is not that they fear that their network will be threatened it is just that they do not understand the implications of using Wi Fi and what the potential dangers could be. In a survey by Air Magnet, 43 per cent of those that responded did not think that they would be able to manage a network and keep it safe and secure.

Also around a third of the businesses that replied believed that a Wi Fi network would not be suitable for their business because it would make things slower and not as reliable as using a LAN.

These are popular conceptions of using Wi Fi and really it is down to the industry itself, there is little or no useful information out there, which just adds to the confusion of the whole process or whether to use Wi Fi or not!
