XP lasts beyond sell by date

With the 30th June approaching very fast what is going to happen to all of the users of Windows XP? Well before you rush out and buy an expensive replacement, it is worth noting that the end of June is not going to necessarily be the end of the world.

In theory the operating system will no longer be sold and there will not be any support for the product either, but this is not actually going to be the case as there will be certain outlets still providing the XP OS like Dell and Asus to name two manufacturers, it is believed that they will be selling this right into 2010.

As for support, Microsoft just cannot simply say that’s it and turn off any support just like that, in fact because of the amount of XP users and the fact the OS is still being sold through retailer’s means that the support will need to be in place until at least 2014!
