What do webmasters know about their visitors?

If you have ever wonder what sort of information a website holds on you, then you may be interested to know that every time you visit a website your IP address is logged, from this all sorts of data can be discovered.

But this sort of information may not be available to all, this will be in the logs of the website, the webmaster would be able to view these logs and see who visited at certain times and where they came from.

This sort of information could be valuable for marketing and also in law enforcement should the visitor be up to no good, then you could expect a knock on the door.

This may seem a bit like big brother, but really unless there is someone who is really bad then the data is in safe hands, for now!
