Internet freedom under threat

Google are calling it the end of internet freedom, while the media giant Viacom are calling it just good business.

But whatever they call it, the outcome for ordinary users if the internet could mean that they lose out on what have become normal everyday practices, like surfing and looking at interesting stuff!

What this all boils to, is YouTube and the content that is placed on there from their users. It is this content which Viacom say is copyrighted material such as South Park and even the green film An Inconvenient Truth.

Viacom estimated that there are some 150,000 copyrighted pieces of material on YouTube and it is this, what forms the basis of a $1 Billion lawsuit against YouTube.
