Data stolen from Monster.com

Jobseekers need to be very aware of a situation that happened at the job site Monster.com, the thieves made off with hundreds of thousands of resumes, so now it would appear that the phone numbers, e-mail addresses and other personal data could now be in the hands of criminals out to steal identities and much more.

Everyone should watch out for emails and phone calls from prospective employers offering dream jobs or even jobs that seem to be to good to be true. What they are after is your bank details, they may claim that they need your bank details in order to pay you, which would sound feasible, but remember is an employer going to offer you a job with a great salary out of the blue, with no previous contact?

Computer security firm, Symantec have reported that on a computer found in the Ukraine, there were over 1.6 million personal records which had been stolen from Monster.com, now that makes you think!
