One million viruses on the loose

It’s a frightening prospect but it has been estimated that by the end of the year there will an estimated one million viruses circulating around the internet, but while large companies can afford to employ the latest security measures against this threat. It is the smaller business and the private individual who are getting hit.

However there is some good news, the amount of infections getting through via email attachments has changed from one in forty to one in a thousand, this has made the whole process a bit more expensive for the writers of this type of code.

But new tactics are being used, where a tiny piece of code is place within a website, this will redirect the traffic to clone site where the user’s personal and banking details can sometimes be obtained. This type of code is extremely difficult to find within a large website, but is that really a good enough excuse?
