Companies failing to secure networks
It is a sad fact that many businesses, most of them being large organisations are failing to protect their own network traffic. In fact there are around five per cent of these large organisations that have no security measures at all, meaning that their data can be accessed by anyone who can be bothered to have a go.
One of the problems found in a survey of IT and security professionals was that 34 per cent do not fully protect the organisations data, in fact these companies only protect between 1 and 25 per cent of their data, this would leave then open to outside influence and possibility of data being copied.
The problem is that organisations are in fact reducing their security levels, for whatever reason. Maybe its cost or just that they are unable to fully protect their networks, with more employees working from home this problem is bound to get worse rather than better.
