US feel Second Life is a terrorist haven

It seems that nothing is sacred on the internet, and communities like Second Life are increasing coming under suspicion as being a place where terrorists can gather and organize their finances, plans and in general gather intelligence.

This information is coming from US intelligence officials who have be warning for some time that these places could become a virtual safe haven for terrorists and criminals too. What started off as game as now grown over the years into a booming economy with banking and shopping facilities.

But even agencies like the CIA are using Second Life; they have created their own islands which are used for training and meetings. So if they can use it for these purposes, then there is no doubt that other organisations could do the same.

It is a pity that something like Second Life can evolve into something like this where nobody is trusted and everyone is under suspicion, a bit like everyone’s first life!
